From Jan to July 2023, Sri Lanka’s garment exports decreased by 19% YoY to $2,630.4 million, impacted by the global economic slowdown.
July saw a 23.3% slump in garment exports.
Meanwhile, imports of textiles and clothing also dropped significantly during this period, by 27% and 34.4% respectively, as per data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
