In yet another attempt to assert his role as a mediator, former US president Donald Trump confidently stated Monday that he could end the Russia-Ukraine war if he gets into the White House after the November 2024 reelection.

Speaking in an interview Monday in America First with Sebastian Gorka, Donald Trump suggested that discussions are the only way forward to “stop the bloodshed in Europe.”

The 77-year-old stated: “We have to get both of them [Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky] together, and I’ll say ‘you gotta get this thing done, you’re gonna get it done…’ I’ll get them together and make a deal, and I’ll get it done.”

The former president reiterated that he knows both of the leaders and how to carve out a peace plan.

The Republican forerunner linked it with a chess match or a poker game and criticized President Joe Bide’s failure to cease the hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.

He said Joe Biden is not much of a chess player therefore he is shifting all the blame to Vladimir Putin.

“It should have never started… I did discuss Ukraine with Putin… it was the apple of his eye, he would have never done it [started the conflict] when I was [in office],” the criminally indicted former president said.

Trump has also been making such remarks in different interviews suggesting that he would bring both leaders to the room and make them live peacefully.

Moscow has expressed eagerness for talks but the West led by the US says the negotiations would be on Ukraine’s terms.
