A Markham massage therapist has been charged with voyeurism after he allegedly recorded video of a female client undressing last month.

Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a Pickering residence near Rougemount Dr. and Altona Rd. around 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 10 after a resident contacted Akwaaba Mobile Massage to have a massage therapist come to her home.

While undressing beforehand, police say the woman allegedly found the mobile massage therapist’s phone propped up recording her.

The woman, who was not injured, confronted the masseuse and he left the house before officers arrived, police say.

A suspect was subsequently identified and arrested on Jan. 25.

Godwin Asante, 32, of Markham, is charged with voyeurism.

Police are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims.
