How Google is making it easy to find new songs on YouTube Music – Times of India

YouTube Music has got a lot of features and redesign in recent months. The Google-owned music streaming platform is now getting another feature that will enable users to find new music or songs via Samples tab.

“We’re introducing a new personalised music discovery feature in YouTube Music that shows viewers samples of new music,” the company said.
YouTube said that it is introducing the Samples tab that will have a feed of short form video segments “to get you to your new favourite music.” This personalised feed will be powered by the YouTube Music library and include the latest release from an up-and-coming artist or a deep cut from a legacy artist.

Each clip will offer information about the artist, the video, and the feel of the song. Users can simply swipe vertically to experience a new song.
What’s in for users
Apart from getting new songs or remixes like we find in Reels or TikTok, YouTube Music will will enable users to quickly add the song to a playlist, “share it with friends, kick off a great new radio station, watch the full video, visit the album page, or even use the song to create your own Short.”
Artists can also find new audiences and build a community on YouTube with the help of the Samples tab.
“This is yet another example of how YouTube’s unique combination of music videos, live performances, music premieres and Shorts inspires real, devoted fandom, which is the key to making our platform the best place for every artist and music fan,” the company added.
Availability
The Samples tab is beginning to roll out to YouTube Music users globally. In the future, the company will explore how this type of short-form discovery can inform other parts of the YouTube Music app and look for opportunities to provide new experiences.
At the time of writing, the Times of India-Gadgets Now team did not get the dedicated Samples tab. It should reach all users in the coming days.
