A new little slice of heaven is coming to Macon.
Or should we say, coming back to Macon.
It’ll take the place of JAG’s Pizzeria, which closed in 2023, and it promises to be the MVP.
The new pizzeria is called Mercer Village Pizza and is located at 1635 Montpelier Ave. in Macon.
The announcement of the new restaurant broke on social media with a post from the new pizza joint.
“We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of Mercer Village Pizza, your new go-to spot for delicious, mouth-watering pizza and local craft beer right here in the heart of our community,” read the Facebook post.
The restaurant will have its grand opening on April 10.
The new pizzeria will be the third pizza restaurant to open at the same location. Sauced at Mercer Village was the first restaurant at the location and opened in 2014. Once Sauced closed in 2019, JAG’s Pizzeria took over in 2020 and then suddenly closed in 2023.
Mercer Village Pizza encouraged followers to keep an eye out for the website launch which will include the menu and hiring information.
