A video clip of an interview of Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of Donald Trump, where a baby doll was subjected to various theatrical abuses has been circulating on social media, Newsweek reported.
Lara, the wife of Eric Trump, was recently elected as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) by a unanimous vote after the former president endorsed her for the role.
Her pledge to use her position to ensure all organisation funds are allocated to her father-in-law’s re-election in November has raised concerns about potential legal bills and harm to down-ballot Republican candidates.
The 41-year-old former press surrogate and adviser for her father-in-law recently appeared on right-wing commentator, Alex Stein’s show, “Prime Time with Alex Stein”.
A clip from her interview with Stein, who is known for disrupting local government meetings and confronting politicians in public, went viral on social media for its bizarre content surrounding a baby doll.
The video, shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by an account named PatriotTakes, begins with Stein’s co-host asks Lara to hold a baby and sign an autograph.
Then, Stein pulls out a baby doll and theatrically punts it offscreen, after expressing frustration over his co-host for bringing babies on set.
He later subjected the doll to abuses like hitting it on the head with his shoe, lighting it on fire, and slamming it.
“Gotta love those Republican ‘Conservative Christian’ Family Values,” one user wrote in a reply to the video.
“Oh but tell us MAGAs how Dems are inappropriate with children,” another user wrote.
As of Saturday afternoon, the post had been viewed over 420,000 times.
Stein responded to the PatriotTakes account on social media with a screenshot of an online dictionary’s definition of “satire.”
