A Toronto man is facing charges following two carjackings months apart in North York.

Toronto Police say the first incident occurred just after midnight on Aug. 13, 2023. Officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Keele St.-Wilson Ave. area.

Cops allege the victim was driving in the area when two suspects intentionally rear-ended the victim’s vehicle.

The suspects approached the victim with a weapon and demanded the keys. They then fled the area in the victim’s vehicle.

Police say the victim’s vehicle was recovered in Mississauga on Sept. 22, 2023.

In the second incident, on Jan. 5 at approximately 7:45 a.m., police say officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Keele St. and Lawrence Ave. W. area.

It is alleged that the victim stepped out of their vehicle and left it running. The accused entered the vehicle and fled the area.

The victim’s vehicle was recovered in Toronto on Jan. 18.

On Tuesday, police arrested 19-year-old Husnain Javed and charged him with two counts possession of property obtained by crime.
