Trident Ltd Q2 net profit rises to Rs 90 crore

Textiles major Trident Ltd reported a consolidated net profit at Rs 90 crore ($11.2 million) for the September quarter, as against Rs 37 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 25 percent to Rs 17,97 crore, as against Rs 14,38 crore in the year-ago quarter.

In a separate announcement, Trident Limited announced that it has been granted patent for ‘Terry fabric weave and resulting terry fabric’ by The Patent Office, Government of India.

With this patent the company claims it will deliver towels that have improved material efficiencies, pull resistance, absorbency, softness, and uniformity of texture.

The Punjab-based Trident is one of the largest players in the home textile space in India. It currently has around 400 points-of-sales across the country and plans to further expand its retail presence by doubling its point-of-sales next year.
