Tom Pelphrey Not Knowing Kaley Cuoco Was ‘Famous’ Famous Is the Greenest Flag

Apparently, Kaley Cuoco’s boyfriend, Ozark actor Tom Pelphrey, “was completely unaware” of her Big Bang Theory megastardom until he brought her home to meet the family.  Which is wild, given that Cuoco played Penny Hofstadter on the wildly popular CBS sitcom for 12 seasons.  

“Matter of fact, when I first brought Kaley to New Jersey to meet my family and friends, my mom’s partner—who apparently was a Big Bang Theory fan—was there, and he kept calling her Penny,” Pelphrey recently told W Magazine.

“I had no clue what was going on,” he said. “So I pulled Kaley aside, like, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t understand what’s happening. Why does he keep calling you Penny?’ She’s like, ‘That’s my character in The Big Bang Theory.’” Sweet, sweet boy.

Cuoco and Pelphrey confirmed they were dating in May 2022 and welcomed their first child together, four-month-old daughter Matilda, earlier this year. The couple also shares several pet dogs. 

“I’ve watched a few episodes with her since,” Pelphrey added. “Obviously, she’s fantastic.”

In fact, he continued, he’d never seen Kaley Cuoco act “in anything” prior to their romance. 

“Look, I live in a cave,” he admitted. “Before I met Kaley, I was living in upstate New York on a dirt road in the middle of the woods, without much Wi-Fi…. She’s brought me into modern times.”
